Self-Care September

How often do you find yourself putting the needs of others before yours? Whether you’re a parent, carer, an entrepreneur or just overall super busy, there comes a time where you just need to fill up your cup and prioritize yourself. Now, it's good to note that self-care isn't selfish. Even if you think it might be. It's actually a necessity. By practicing self-love you are showing respect for yourself and giving yourself the love you deserve.

2020 has been tough to say the least and I think its starting to take its toll on many of us. This got me thinking... It's time. It's time to respect ourselves, do the necessary work and take care like we have been taking care of everyone around us. This is how Self-Care September was born.

Throughout September I am dedicating the month to Self-Care. Because it's a necessity. I am definitely a culprit when it comes to ignoring myself and putting me last, so this is where I'm relying on you all to support each other and encourage self-care in your day-to-day lives.

"You deserve the love you keep trying to give to everyone else"

Self-care is an important aspect in maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself as it boosts your confidence and self-esteem. Through self-care, it is necessary to remind yourself and others that you and your needs are important too. Like they say, "you cant pour from an empty cup".

It's time to support yourself! Be your biggest fan. When you do something well, congratulate yourself! We all love to nurture others close to us. What would you tell someone to lift them up? What would you like to hear? Write these things down and refer to them when you can.

"Self-care is not an expense, it's an investment"

So the goal this month is to try and dedicate time for self-care in each day. Now that doesn't mean you need to go and have a bath, drink a glass of wine and do a face mask every single day, but it means giving yourself love and care in simple ways. Some examples could be; go for a walk, move your body, drink more water, meditate, read, affirmations or drink a coffee in peace.

But before you leave today, read these out loud:

"My ability to conquer my challenges is limitless; my potential to succeed is infinite."

"I am blessed with an incredible family and wonderful friends."

"I believe in myself, I support myself, I love myself."

"I matter; my needs and wants are just as important as everybody else’s."

Cant wait to see what you guys get up to each day! And remember to use the #selfcareseptember on your social and tag us so we can support each other!
